Born in Israel, pianist Omer Klein has made a name for himself in both the New York City and

international jazz scenes. Without any overt attempt at a fusion concept, Klein's approach

encompasses the pop and traditional music of his Middle Eastern upbringing and the jazz pia

no tradition. HEART BEATS is his first unaccompanied recital, all solo piano, and it's a moody

gem. Many of these original tunes have warmly engaging modal, folk-based melodies with su

btle classical undertones. Klein also has a mature, measured approach that is refreshing

the tracks are between two and six minutes a piece,

the pianist never playing too much or too little.
